Choose the correct Puch cylinder for your engine

The Puch cylinder range covers standard engine repairs, reliable street setups and more powerful tuning builds. Choose from cast-iron and aluminium cylinders from 50cc to 74cc.

Standard replacement Replace a worn, damaged or seized original cylinder with a suitable standard cylinder.
Street tuning Build a reliable street setup with a cylinder matched to your carburetor, intake and exhaust.
Performance builds Choose a performance cylinder for an engine fitted with suitable supporting components.
Complete cylinder sets Find cylinder kits with matching parts such as a piston, rings, gaskets or cylinder head.

Shop by cylinder type

Start by selecting the correct cylinder design for your engine. With Puch Maxi engines in particular, it is important to distinguish between Old Model and New Model cylinders.

Puch cylinders from leading brands

The assortment includes cylinders from brands such as Airsal, Athena, DMP, Polini, Malossi and our own PSR range. Available brands, materials and displacements differ by Puch model and engine type.

Puch cylinders by model

Start with your Puch model and engine type. Cylinder fitment, displacement and available tuning options differ between engine families.

Puch Maxi and X30 Cylinders for E50, Z50 and ZA50 engines, including Old Model and New Model versions.
Puch MV, VS, MS and DS Replacement and tuning cylinders for classic Puch mopeds and engine rebuilds.
Puch Monza and X50 Cylinders for standard repairs, rebuilds and tuned Monza or X50 setups.
From 50cc to 74cc Choose a displacement that matches your model, engine and intended setup.
Check compatibility before ordering

Confirm your Puch model, engine type, displacement and piston-pin diameter before choosing a cylinder. Also check the intake design, exhaust connection and cylinder-head compatibility. With a Maxi engine, confirm whether you need an Old Model or New Model cylinder. Read our Old Model and New Model cylinder guide for more information. Product contents can differ, so always check whether the piston, rings, gaskets and mounting parts are included. Need advice? Contact Puchshop.

Cast-iron or aluminium Puch cylinder?

A cast-iron cylinder is durable and can often be honed or rebored after wear or minor bore damage. An aluminium cylinder normally has a plated bore and transfers heat efficiently, making it suitable for many street and performance setups. The best choice depends on your engine build, budget and intended use.

Complete your Puch cylinder setup

During an engine repair or rebuild, also inspect the piston, cylinder head, gaskets and mounting components.

FAQ about Puch cylinders

How do I choose the correct cylinder for my Puch?

Start with the exact moped model and engine type. Then compare the cylinder design, displacement, piston-pin diameter, intake and exhaust connections, cylinder head and product measurements.

What is the difference between Old Model and New Model cylinders?

Old Model and New Model cylinders use different cylinder and cylinder-head designs. These parts are not always interchangeable, so identify the version fitted to your engine before ordering.

Can I install a 70cc or 74cc cylinder on a standard Puch engine?

A larger cylinder may require supporting components or setup changes. Check crankcase clearance, crankshaft condition, carburetor and jetting, intake, exhaust, ignition, clutch and cylinder-head compatibility before installation.

Are Puch cylinders supplied with a piston and gaskets?

The contents differ by product. Some cylinders are supplied as complete kits, while others contain only the cylinder or selected components. Always check the listed product contents before ordering.

Which cylinder brands are available for Puch mopeds?

The assortment includes Airsal, Athena, DMP, Polini, Malossi and PSR. Availability differs by model, displacement and engine type.
