Pull starter for Puch Maxi E50 engine PSR

• Ready-to-install pull starter for clockwise rotating Puch E50 engines on your Puch Maxi S / N or Puch Supermaxi LG1 moped. Can only be fitted in conjunction with an PVL ignition system.
  
• Good quality, can be used without problems with all cylinders from 50cc to 70cc!

Note: pull starter cover can be supplied black or grey (no choice here)

Installation:

• Starter: Clean the rotor and remove the original nut. Then screw the pull starter catch onto the crankshaft. Tip: Install the starter catch using Loctite.
• Pull starter: Position the starter housing correctly and, if necessary, gently tap it into place with a plastic mallet until the housing fits properly. The pull starter can then be screwed into place.

How do you use the pull starter?

• Before each starting attempt, slowly pull the cord a few times to turn the engine over.
• Then slowly pull out the starter handle until you feel the mechanism fully engage and you can feel the engine compression.
• Once engaged, pull the starter handle firmly, smoothly and quickly to start the engine.
• After starting, allow the cord to retract in a controlled manner. Do not allow the starter handle to snap back.

Which pull starter do you need?

• A standard pull starter is generally suitable for standard and lightly tuned engines up to 70cc.
• For engines of 70cc or more, engines with high compression or more heavily tuned engines, we recommend a reinforced pull starter mechanism. The higher compression puts significantly more load on the starter mechanism.

Important:

• Always pull the cord slowly at first until the mechanism engages, and only then pull firmly. This reduces the load on the cord, starter catch and other components and helps prevent unnecessary damage.
• Damage to the pull starter caused by incorrect use, such as pulling with full force before the mechanism has engaged or allowing the starter handle to snap back, is not covered by the warranty.
• The original pedals can no longer be used because the pedal arms would hit the pull starter housing. Therefore, foot pegs, a longer pedal shaft or a pedal shaft extension must be installed.
