Puch exhaust header pipes, elbows and manifolds

Replace a damaged exhaust header or build a custom Puch exhaust system. Here you will find separate exhaust elbows, header pipes and manifolds for original-style exhausts, tuning systems and custom moped projects.

The assortment includes exhaust connections in sizes from approximately 18 to 32mm, with different bends, lengths, mounting styles and finishes. Separate header pipes are useful when repairing an existing exhaust or combining compatible components in a custom setup.

Before ordering, measure the cylinder outlet and the connection to the exhaust body. Also check the flange angle, mounting method, pipe routing and available clearance around the frame, pedals, stand and engine.

Choose the correct exhaust header for your Puch

The correct header pipe must connect securely to both the cylinder and the rest of the exhaust system. Diameter is important, but the angle, pipe shape, length and mounting points must also match your moped.

Cylinder connection Check the exhaust-port diameter, flange type, stud spacing and whether the cylinder outlet is straight or angled.
Pipe diameter Compare the stated size with the cylinder outlet and exhaust-body connection. Confirm whether the measurement is an inside or outside diameter.
Bend and routing The shape of the header determines how the exhaust passes the engine, frame, pedals, stand and other components.
Exhaust connection Check whether the header slides into, over or against the exhaust body and whether a sleeve, clamp or spring connection is required.

Measure both ends of the header pipe

Do not select a header only by its advertised diameter. Measure the connection at the cylinder and the connection at the exhaust body, because the two ends may use different dimensions or mounting methods.

Also confirm whether the product measurement refers to the inside diameter, outside diameter or nominal pipe size. Product photos and listed dimensions should be compared with your existing parts.

Exhaust-header details that affect fitment

Two header pipes with the same diameter can still have different bends, flange positions and connection lengths. Check the complete geometry before choosing a part.

Straight cylinder outlet The header leaves the cylinder in a relatively straight direction and must align with the exhaust route and frame mounting points.
Angled cylinder outlet The header connection follows an angled exhaust port. A straight-port header may not align correctly with this cylinder type.
Slip-fit connection One pipe slides over or inside the other and is normally secured with a clamp, spring or suitable retaining system.
Fixed or welded connection Some systems use a dedicated flange or require fabrication and welding as part of a custom exhaust build.

Check the complete exhaust route before installation

Loosely position the header and exhaust body before tightening any hardware. The pipe should clear the frame, engine, swingarm, pedals and stand without being forced sideways.

A header installed under tension can place additional load on the cylinder studs and exhaust mounts. This can cause leaks, loose fasteners, damaged threads or cracking over time.

Repair an existing exhaust or build a custom system?

A replacement header can be suitable when the main exhaust body and silencer remain in good condition. It can also be used as the starting point for a custom exhaust, provided the dimensions and connection methods are compatible.

Replacing a damaged header Compare the original pipe’s diameter, bend, length and mounting position before selecting the replacement.
Changing the cylinder A different cylinder may use another outlet diameter, flange angle or stud arrangement and may therefore require another header.
Custom exhaust project Confirm the pipe material, wall thickness and connection method before cutting, bending or welding exhaust components.
Restoring a standard setup Select a header with the correct original-style routing and connection for the frame, cylinder and exhaust body.

Use a new exhaust gasket when required

A damaged or reused gasket can allow exhaust gases and oil residue to escape at the cylinder connection. Check whether your cylinder uses a flat gasket, sealing ring or another sealing method.

Tighten the cylinder connection evenly and inspect it again after the first heat cycles. Do not overtighten the fasteners, as this can damage studs, threads, flanges or the cylinder.

Check these details before ordering

Puch model and frame Identify the exact model and frame version, including any modifications affecting exhaust clearance.
Cylinder model Check the outlet diameter, angle, stud spacing and sealing method of the cylinder currently installed.
Existing exhaust Measure the connection diameter and determine how the header attaches to the exhaust body.
Mounting hardware Check whether you also need a gasket, clamp, sleeve, springs, bracket, nuts or other exhaust fasteners.
