Before mounting
- We always advise to check and clean the cylinder before installation and to finish the ports in the cylinder with a 1000 grit sandpaper. This way the edges are no longer too sharp because of the Nicasil coating, this will considerably extend the life of the cylinder / piston.
Note:
- Do not overtighten your carburetor to your manifold, as this may cause the clamp to break. No warranty when you have overtightening the clamp!
- So the nozzle should be changed at all times before fitting the carburettor with a nozzle that suits the set-up. So the blank nozzle cannot be used.
- The jet that is mounted in the carburettor / set is blank and different for each batch. (The manufacturer does this because they cannot know on which engine / setup this carburettor will be mounted). It is therefore highly advisable to order a jet-set so that you can always achieve maximum adjustment.
Tips:
- Use our long brass M6 nuts in combination with hardened studs (see related products). This so you can easily and fully tighten the exhaust flange. Brass is also softer than steel, so it will not seize.
- Always use a new exhaust gasket when fitting an exhaust
When using all exhausts, black painted, chrome and blanc exhausts, heat build-up at the exhaust manifold can cause the following:
- At black outlets the paint can dissolve a little.
- Chrome and blanc exhaust manifolds may discolour
If the nozzle is too small or if the ignition is set incorrectly, the exhaust port becomes very hot and discoloring and dissolve of the paint on the exhaust manifold will occur faster than a perfectly adjusted engine. We give no guarantee on discoloration or solving of the paint on the exhaust manifold!
